Indro Cavanna

As a third-year student at Pratt Institute, set to graduate in May 2026, my journey in architecture has been both enriching and transformative. My name is Indro Cavanna, and my passion for this field was sparked at Geneva High School in Geneva, Illinois, where I immersed myself in several architecture classes. This foundational education was further augmented by a summer course at Syracuse University during my junior year, preparing me for the rigorous and creative environment at Pratt.

During my time at Pratt, I have discovered a profound love for model making. This medium has become more than just a tool for me; it's a gateway to exploring and redefining the limits of architectural representation. I am deeply fascinated by the challenge of conveying complex designs and concepts through models, striving to showcase what can be achieved in this often-underutilized aspect of architectural design.

My approach to architecture is heavily influenced by the role of emotion in shaping spaces. I am committed to exploring how emotional resonance can be intricately woven into the fabric of architectural design, influencing not just the aesthetics but the very function of a structure. This exploration is not just an academic pursuit for me; it’s about reimagining how spaces interact with human experiences.

As I stand on the brink of transitioning from academic studies to professional practice, I am excited to bring my unique blend of technical skill and creative vision to the field of architecture. My portfolio is a reflection of my journey so far – a journey marked by a relentless pursuit of innovation and excellence in design. I am Indro Cavanna, a visionary young architect ready to make a meaningful impact in the industry.

Design Process

In my architectural journey, my design process has been deeply influenced by my experiences at Pratt Institute. I approach each project with a focus on model making, which I believe is not just a tool for representation, but a powerful medium for conceptual exploration and innovation. My design philosophy revolves around the intricate relationship between emotion and architecture. I strive to create designs that not only push the boundaries of form and function but also evoke a profound emotional response. This process involves a continuous interplay of creativity and technical skill, where every model I craft is a step towards redefining architectural norms and enriching human experiences within spaces. As I prepare for a professional career, I am committed to bringing this thoughtful, boundary-pushing approach to every project I undertake.
